Overview
Basic Web Hosting
The IT department provides web site space, free of charge, to individuals with a UNM NetID. This service allows hosting of standard HTML files, Flash, JavaScript, etc. Additionally, IT provides a pre-selected collection of CGI scripts that may be used on your website. See IT Web Authoring support pages for general help.
Personal web pages may not be used for commercial purposes and may not include copyrighted material. Advanced tools such as ASP, Cold Fusion, PHP, etc., are not available for personal web pages.
Departmental / Organization Web Hosting
IT provides web application hosting services for official University Departments and Organizations. This hosting environment provides PHP and MySQL. The Departmental / Organization web hosting service is not available for personal web pages.
Departments and Organizations — please note that Virtual Host Services are available. Virtual hosts allow replacement of a long URL with one that is shorter and / or more descriptive of the web site content, such as replacing http://www.unm.edu/~dptname/program with http://program.unm.edu.
Getting Started
The UNM Web Server is generally available here. Each user's web site is available at http://www.unm.edu/~NetID, where "NetID" is replaced with the actual NetID of a user.
Departments and organizations granted access to the Departmental Web Application Server will be provided with a URL to access their web site with. The URL will be provided upon creation of your access to the server.
