In early September 2014, The University engaged Kurt Salmon Associates (KSA), an international management consulting firm, to perform a high-level review of all main campus IT at UNM. The KSA framework will be foundational to institution-wide IT strategic planning.

Recommendations will focus on:

  • Operational efficiencies
  • "Common Good" IT services
  • UNM IT Governance

KSA's engagement will begin in September and is anticipated to conclude this calendar year. KSA recently completed a similar engagement at the UNM Health Sciences Center.

CIO Gil Gonzales will facilitate the UNM engagement by convening a small group of executive stakeholders under EVP David Harris, Provost Chaouki Abdallah, and the President’s Office. The documented IT practices of central and distributed service providers, interviews of IT leadership, and a campus-wide survey, will inform the framework developed by KSA.

UNM Departments providing IT services either within their division or to segments of the UNM community will be contacted through their IT Agents to supply divisional IT documentation and survey responses.
