3D Printing

About the Service
UNM IT's 3D Printing Service provides Students, Faculty, and Staff who do not have access to a 3D printer through their departments a means to make 3D prints. This is a hands-on print lab and not a print shop. Users will first schedule an appointment to check their 3D print file. Then they will be assigned a date and time to return to start the print based on the information from the first appointment.
Print fees are based on the amount of filament used plus an additional processing fee for the Lobo Cash transaction. Estimates are provided during the initial file check, and payment is due at the time of service. Only Lobo Cash is accepted.

How to use the Service:
Step One: Make an appointment with out 3D Printing Services
Schedule an appointment with our service to check your project file:
- Bring project on an external drive the day of the appointment (The service does not hold onto files).
- Files must be in .stl, .obj, or .gcode filetype.
- Users will be charged at the time of this appointment (Refunds available if cancelation is needed).
Step Two: Set up a printing appointment
At your appointment, staff will schedule you for a second Printing Appointment
- Printing appointments will be based on availability of the Printer.
- Rush orders are not available through this service.
Step Three: Start your print job
- Arrive 5 min before your assigned appointment with your External Drive and Project File.
- Wait for staff to begin the Print.
- Please wait 15 min after starting print to verify printing process has begun.
Step Four: Pick-up your finished print!
After your print has finished you will be notified via a print completed email. Pick up your Print within 24 hours of receiving the print completed email.

A self-service video production space for students, faculty, and staff
About the Studio
The DIY Studio in Woodward Hall Room 138 is a creative space designed to support audio and video production for class assignments, presentations, research projects, and more. Built with flexibility in mind, the studio empowers you to take charge of your own content creation. No prior experience is required.
This space is available to UNM students, faculty, and staff, and is managed by the Academic Technologies team.
What You Can Do Here
- Record solo or group audio/video projects
- Learn new media production skills at your own pace.
- Reserve studio time in hourly blocks (1 to 4 hours)

- Lighting, cameras, and microphones with audio mixer
- Telepromtor and control available through QPrompt Software
- Sound-treated space
- Capacity: Up to 5 users at once
- Self-guided workflow with easy-to-use lighting and audio setup
Save Your Work
Please bring a USB drive or use a cloud-based tool like OneDrive or SharePoint.
All files are deleted from the studio computer at the end of each week.
