Viewing explicit material:
The University of New Mexico (as is the case at other universities) does not limit or filter network traffic based on content. However, to maintain a respectful and productive learning environment, the following guidelines apply when using UNM IT computer pods:
- Accessing or displaying explicit material is not permitted in UNM IT computer pods, as it may disrupt the learning environment.
- If a user is viewing explicit material, they will be asked by the Student Computer Consultant (SCON) on duty to discontinue viewing and/or relocate to a more private setting.
- Do not confront the user directly—instead, report concerns to the SCON on duty to prevent escalation.
